Terms of Use: Ruby

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply when you use Ruby: College Study Planner ("Ruby", "the app"), made by Sthavar P S ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Ruby, you agree to these Terms.

1. Apple's Standard EULA

Ruby is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

These Terms add to the Standard EULA. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA wins.

2. Using Ruby

• Ruby is a personal study planning tool. Use it for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes.
• You're responsible for the information you enter and for checking your own deadlines, class times and attendance requirements.
• Don't copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app, its artwork (including Ruby the fox) or its content.

3. Ruby Pro subscription

Ruby Pro unlocks the full app. It's offered as an auto-renewing subscription:

• Monthly: $4.99 per month
• Yearly: $29.99 per year

Prices are in US dollars and vary by country. The App Store always shows the exact price in your local currency before you confirm.

Free trial. New subscribers may get a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged if you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you don't cancel, the subscription starts and you're charged at the end of the trial. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.

Payment and auto-renewal.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase (or when the free trial ends).
• Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the same price unless we tell you otherwise. Apple will ask for your consent before any price increase where required.

Restoring purchases. On a new device, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap "Restore Purchases" in Ruby.

4. Cancellation

Apple manages all subscriptions. To cancel:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap your name → Subscriptions.
3. Tap Ruby → Cancel Subscription.

When you cancel, you keep Ruby Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that it won't renew. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. Apple's guide: https://support.apple.com/HT202039

5. Refunds

Apple processes all payments, so Apple handles all refunds under its own policies. We can't issue refunds, see your payment details or change charges ourselves.

To request a refund:

1. Go to https://reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
2. Tap "I'd like to" → "Request a refund".
3. Choose the reason, select the Ruby purchase and submit.

6. Your data

Your study data is stored on your device and, when you sign in for sync, in your own iCloud. Sign in with Apple and iCloud to keep Ruby in sync across devices. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. You're responsible for keeping backups. We aren't liable for data lost through device loss, iCloud problems, deleting the app or erasing your data.

7. Planning help, not guarantees

Ruby helps you organise your studies. It reads deadlines from messages and timetables, suggests next steps and calculates attendance. These features can make mistakes. Always check important dates, requirements and attendance rules with your college or instructor. We don't guarantee any grade, attendance result or academic outcome.

App blocking uses Apple's Screen Time features. It depends on your device's settings and may not block every app or every time.

8. Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue features at any time. Some features need a recent version of iOS or iPadOS, or specific hardware. We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app. If you keep using Ruby after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Ruby is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, missed deadlines or academic results arising from your use of Ruby. Our total liability won't exceed the amount you paid for Ruby in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded.

10. Termination

You can stop using Ruby at any time by deleting the app and cancelling your subscription. We may stop providing the app to you if you break these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India, except where the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence give you the right to bring a claim where you live.
